Thank you. Your weaving of words and pictures (and yes the video as well) touched me deeply. i recognize also the 'costs' of progress here in southwest Ontario. Your work encourages me. Peace on the part of your journey.
"I am a part of everything and I am not in control". The strength of these words have the power to move mountains. Yes! I will keep speaking for the land even though I may not be heard yet knowing each voice added MATTERS!
Thank you Thank you, keep up the momentum and may this community [all beings] support one another in our own communities.
Thank you so much for raising awareness on this issue. The saddest part is these small plots are also beneficial to the farmer removing them. We will keep the pressure up.
Thank you so much for all the heart, soul and spirit , the very foundation of where will the frogs sing. I feel much gratitude for the quiet alone time I was able to spend with the remnant beauty we are surrounded with and time to grieve what has been lost. Both joy and sorrow brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Sue and Vera for the legacy you left us. Dolores Fehr
I will miss your musings and pictures and poetry about your prairie lives. So sorry that you have penned and posted the last, hope that you will keep the frogs on your mind and maybe an occasional message to the rest of us about the frogs and the prairie.
Thank you for sharing this thought provoking look at the world around us with a focus of attentiveness and wonder. Yes, we are connected to the land, the water and the air. Your work took me beyond seeing remnants of land in the prairies to contemplating and feeling the value of the spaces where I find myself as I live with and as part of creation. Well done.
I was waking to my bedroom and asking myself in my mind “what would I do if this was it, if nothing changes (week six of migraine).” The answer came right away: I would read Sue and Vera’s blog post on a tinted screen and sunglasses. What you each bring to the world brings my heart and soul such peace, and joy, and ease. Kinda like that “wanna shout it from the rooftops” and deep, deep still of sitting by a creek in a heavily wooded forest feeling at the same time. Love to you both. And, is it true: no more blogs from you?
Sue and Vera, I really enjoyed this post which provided even more insight and clarity on the details of the installation. You both have such a talent of being able to share your insights in conjunction with your artist talents. Hip, hip, hooray!
Sue and Vera, I want to thank you both for your soulfilled commitment to this project. I followed this blog with great interest and enjoyed sharing a few morsels of thought at the table you so graciously opened up to us all. I want to thank you both also for your thoughtful display in Regina where I had the privilege of spending time alone. It was an emotional moment for me, reaching in to touch both a quiet joy of kinship, and a deep grief of loss. Bravo! Thank you for your invitation to the table.
I will very much miss your quiet, heartfelt reflections. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. Wishing you both joy in your continued journeys. ❤️
What a tender exploration of habitat loss on the prairies, and soul loss, too. I feel a great urge to keen my grief to the winds of the four directions. May our children's children forgive us. May life spring from this devastation. May the frogs lead us in as-yet-unimagined ways.
Thanks to both of you for sharing your great insight, your talent, and for all of the hard work you have done in your collaboration on this project of significance to us all. We will miss your important reminders of “Where will the frogs sing?”
Beautifully made! Quiet, reflective -- a good place to pause, and think. Thank you Vera and Sue for considering these small remnants of land worth noticing: now I see them too.
